Yes, it’s Snoop Dogg’s favorite strain, and legendary for its energetic, creative, social and upliftingly happy effects. A rich pungent aroma is accompanied by a lingering sweet-citrus, it has a remarkably smooth earthy spiciness on exhale. The onset is quick, making it an easily accessible Sativa for new consumers as it is relatively difficult to over indulge without trying. Contrary to the name, the effect is not strung out and on edge, rather it is a fun, talkative, creative “get-up-and-go” buzziness great for increasing the effects of music, art and nature, with just the right amount of indica introspection.
Green Crack is much more than just Snoop Dogg’s favorite strain, however. Originally called Cush when it emerged as an early descendant of Skunk Number 1 in 1970s Georgia, a later cut was renamed by the Hip Hop king of Cannabis, Snoop Dogg. A fascinating wonderclass in Cannabis genetics and history, Skunk 1 is a cross of three legendary (and possibly exinct) strains. Acapulco Gold and Colombian Gold were both cherished cuts of New World Sativas. Crossed with Afghani Indica to alleviate the paranoia caused by those early pure Sativas, the resulting strain was named Skunk for its intense pungent aroma during flowering. Almost immediately, the skunk genetics were jumped on, spawning some of the most popular strains of the 1970s and 80s, Cush was one of the first.
