420 Party Guide
April 20th is a special day for cannabis enthusiasts. It’s the day we get to let our hair down and partake in our favorite
First things first, you need to set up. Parties are the perfect occasion to show off your best bongs and pipes. Just like when you throw a dinner party and bring out the fine china, bring out your RooR bong and gold grinder to show off your best gear!
To take your party to the next level, consider adding some festive decorations to set the tone. Let your creative side come out to decorate, and don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. Put some flowers in a vase and add a few nugs into the mix to make a fun and unique centerpiece. If you’re having friends over for dinner, adding a preroll to their place setting is a unique way to incorporate your favorite herb. If you’re interested in doing some DIY projects, making a “Happy 420” banner is a great option. All you need is some construction paper in the color of your choice, a permanent marker, twine, and some tape.
When you send out the party invitations to your friends, encourage them to each bring a gram of their favorite strain to share at the party. Additionally, as the host, you may want to have some “house weed” just like you’ll probably have some “house wine” or “house beer” available to your guests. When your friends bring a gram to share, it allows your other guests to try new strains, plus it will make playing games more fun when the winners get to take a few joints home. If you’re looking for a couple of fun and easy games to play with your stoned friends, try the following:
Game #1- Weed Jenga
Jenga was a favorite for many people growing up, but now that we’re adults why not bring it back? Getting a little stoned and playing games that everyone knows how to play are the best bet for a 420 party. Bringing out a game that requires an extensive explanation and has multiple rules probably isn’t the best option to play with a room full of stoners. However, a game that everyone has played, and has simple rules that don’t require much explanation will be easy to get going and keep going.
Now here comes another easy DIY project for the host. Take regular Jenga pieces and write “stoner commands” on the small iconic wooden blocks. Write things like “take a hit”, “Put ice in the bong”, “Clear the bowl”, etc. Since you’re the host, you get to set the rules and decide on what prize the winner gets.
Game #2- 420 Trivia
What better way to celebrate 420 than with some good old fashioned competitive trivia about every stoner’s favorite holiday? You can get as in-depth as you’d like depending on how competitive your guests are, but we recommend keeping the questions light and easy so nobody gets burnt out on the game too quickly.
Usually, trivia is done in multiple rounds of questions. For example, three sheets of questions with 5 questions on each sheet. The host reads the questions out loud and gives the guests one minute to confer with their teammates not their phones to look up the answers! The host doesn’t give the answers until all 5 questions have been answered. Then the guests pass in their answer sheets and the host tallies up the number of answers each team got right. After each round of questions, the host reveals the answer to each question, then announces which team is in the lead, who’s in second place, and so forth. Encourage your guests to get creative with their team names! You might even consider adding bonus points to the best 420 themed team name!
Here are a few 420 Trivia questions to get your game started:

Food is a must when it comes to throwing a party. Food and weed both bring people together and usually after you smoke, you’ll be a little hungry. Just like any party, it’s important to feed your guests. When you send out your invitations, you might want to ask each guest if they have any food allergies or restrictions, or you can go the safe route and have a smorgasbord of food ranging from vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, or nut free, all the way to a charcuterie meat plate or grilling ribs. It all depends on what you know that your guests will eat, plus what you enjoy preparing. Just make sure to have healthy alternatives available like fruit and vegetables, instead of just the standard chips and cookies for when everyone gets the munchies.
If you’re looking to include edibles with your 420 party foods, make sure that your guests know what they’re getting themselves into. You don’t want someone accidentally eating a special brownie when they think it’s a regular brownie- that’s just a recipe for disaster. M Delivers has a selection of premade edibles that take out the hassle of putting on your apron and guessing how potent your special brownies will be. Check out our selection of premium edibles here.
Wine & Weed
At most adult parties, alcohol is enjoyed and there’s usually a few guests who take pride in discussing the many flavor profiles of their favorite wine. Just like wine enthusiasts, some marijuana users are also interested in knowing about their favorite strain’s lineage, flavor profiles, and terpenes. We found that many wine enthusiasts that also smoke, like to pair their favorite strain to their favorite wine. Making sure you stay safe, know your limits, and don’t overdo it, resulting in a harsh “crossfade”, we found a few
Sparkling – If you are someone who enjoys drinking mimosas, sparkling wines, or a good prosecco while you smoke, sticking to a
White – If you’re more of a pinot grigio or chardonnay drinker, an easy hitting
Red – If you’re more of a red wine enthusiast, and usually reach for a cabernet sauvignon or merlot, smoking a hybrid like OG Kush will be your best bet. Not only do the flavors of OG Kush pair well with red wine, but the cerebral effects brought on by this strain of cannabis will complement the heaviness that dark red wines can bring.
Keeping CBD oil or a vape cartridge nearby can come in handy for when you start feeling like you’ve smoked a little too much. Research suggests that CBD can naturally reduce anxiety and help people who have ingested too much THC. If one of your guests starts having a negative experience or gets “too high”, pass them a CBD vape pen and they will usually start to chill out and feel much more mellow and sober within a few minutes.
Before the end of the night, make sure all of your guests either have a DD or have a ride lined up. Just like you would after a night of drinking, it’s important to never drive after a night of partying. Being inebriated while operating a vehicle not only puts the driver in danger but also puts their passengers and other drivers on the road in danger as well. Please be safe, and encourage your guests to use a Lyft or other rideshare services if they don’t have a sober DD available to them. If you need a Lyft code click here.
